State Legislative Advocacy Awards

The ACOG Government Affairs Committee confers two awards annually to a Section or single-state District for an impressive state legislative accomplishment or improvement in the past year. These awards recognize both “advanced” states that already have a successful legislative program in place and “novice” states that are developing their legislative programs. Recipient states receive $1,000. The first awards were conferred in 2009.

Eligibility: Section and single-state District Legislative Chairs
Due Date: December 31st
Conferred: Winners announced at the CLC
Prize: $1,000 for each recipient state

Accomplishment in State Advocacy Award

The State Advocacy Award for Accomplishment is given to the “skilled” ACOG State who has demonstrated an impressive legislative accomplishment during the current legislative session.

Improvement in State Advocacy Award

The State Advocacy Award for Improvement is given to the “developing” ACOG State who has demonstrated impressive growth in its advocacy capacity during the current legislative session.
